Teach the ABC, Numbers, Reading and Spelling using the RECOGNITION method. Educate by auto rotating lessons for toddlers, progressing to keyboard interaction, reading skills and spelling. Real life and animated examples with sound, pictures and video clips. ABC Kid Genius can be set to US or UK English. ABC Kid Genius allows you to use a Mouse or the Keyboard in most areas. Each word has Sound, Picture, Text, Video clip and is used with ABC Kid Genius Spelling and Flash words. c) As a Member you can download and install 2 Stories to use with ABC Kid Genius Reading. Each Story has 20 Pages. d) As a Member you can download Part of each Level Or Complete level of words. e) As a Member you can download an Animated Flag of your own country for the word FLAG. f) As a Member you can create your own Spelling words to use with ABC Kid Genius Spelling and Flash Words. Create words using your own pictures, your own voice and your video clips. Your Internet Membership is for the period purchased from the date of your Membership payment.  The ABC Kid Genius software will NEVER expire. Words and features downloaded and installed will NEVER expire. (This Start software requires 21MB free space) Win95,Win98,Win2000,win2003,WinME,XP,NT,VISTA Visual Basic 6 runtime files and Windows Media Player TROUBLE SHOOTING ABC Kid Genius requires Visual Basic 6 runtime files and Windows Media Player. Most windows systems already have these files. If you get an ERROR message when you first start ABC Kid Genius, you can download and install the microsoft files that are required for the software from the ABC Kid Genius help page on the internet. http://kidgen.net/help/index.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. a) To start ABC Kid Genius Close all applications & click on ABC ABC Kid Genius on your desktop OR Close all applications. From Desktop CLICK on: Start & Programs & ABC ABC Kid Genius OR Use Windows explorer.Click on KGDEMO folder.Click on KIDGEN.EXE ABC Kid Genius allows you to use the KEYBOARD or MOUSE in most areas. Use the highlighted letters to move from menu to menu. Use special feature keys in yellow boxes as required. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPELLING FEATURE Levels, allows you to spell by ability. 3 is the easiest, up to 10 the hardest.  To try the levels feature in spelling, you will require more words. You can Download 20 free words to use with the ABC Kid Genius Software from the Kid Genius site http://www.kidgen.net. SPELLING LEVELS You can choose a level to spell. From Level ALL to Level 10. Level ALL displays all available words.  Level 3 displays words which are 2 to 3 letters long. Level 4 displays words which are 4 letters long. the same applies for 5, 6, 7, 8, 9  Level 10 displays words which are 10 to 12 letters long.                    ON - This On-Off button (next to upper case button in the spelling section) will switch the  little friend encouragement comment off or on, the little friend comment is played when the  spelling of a word is correct and a video clip starts.  Flash Words - If you have installed 20 or more words, the words will keep rotating until Esc is  pressed or clicked.  SORTING - in the spelling section, the 'CHOOSE word ' button will show you all the words that currently exist on your computer you can double click on a word to start spelling from that word. You will also see options to sort the words in the order of your choice, alphabetically, by length or mixed.  When you use the Sorting, the list is changed to the order you choose. The order that you choose, is the order in which the words will be displayed in both Spelling and  Flash Words sections of the ABC Kid Genius Software. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CREATE WORDS FEATURE Create your own Spelling words to use with ABC ABC Kid Genius Spelling and Flash Words. Create words using your own pictures, your voice and your video clips. Non ABC ABC Kid Genius Members can create only 2 words for free. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Requirements to create your own words. PICTURES Digital Pictures - your pictures saved to be 320x240 pixels in size and in a JPG, GIF or BMP image formats. (eg. happy.jpg or flower.gif or girl.bmp) SOUND for Word A sound card with a microphone (mic) input. A microphone so you can Record yourself saying the word. Recording must be saved in WAV sound file format. (eg. happy.wav or flower.wav) Windows has a Sound Recorder. It is normally located in start menu / programs / accessories. VIDEO for WORD The video must be saved in a 320x240 size AVI or MPG video format which is suitable for your Windows Media Player. (eg. happy.avi or flower.mpg) To save space on your computer we recommend you use no more than 10 seconds of video clip for each word. When a word is created your original files ARE NOT moved or deleted from their original source. New files are created in the ABC ABC Kid Genius directory for each word you make. Always Make sure you have enough free hard disk space before creating words. Words can be deleted in the spelling area of the ABC ABC Kid Genius software. There are 4 stages to create a word. 1) Add picture 2) Add sound of word (3) Add video for word. (4) type in word. Follow instruction on the screen for each of the 4 stages and add files as required for the word. ABC ABC Kid Genius supplies only a few templates for names, sound and video to help you practice creating your own words. In stage 4 you will be required to enter the spelling of the word. Each word you enter can be 2 to 12 letters long with no spaces in the middle. Type in the word required in the box and click on Create button or Retype button if you have made a mistake. 2 boxes will pop up to confirm creation YES and NO click on yes to create. The word is created and the screen changes to a menu. Go to Spell Words to test the word. You can create 2 words or names for free. To Create more words please purchase Membership. Except for the sample media provided by ABC ABC Kid Genius, When Creating words always use your own pictures, your own voice and your own videos. Words created should be for your own personal use and should not be distributed. It is an offence to use any media without the authority of the copyright holders. UNINSTALL: To Uninstall ABC Kid Genius use the 'add/remove Programs' in the windows control panel. or Delete the c:\kgdemo directory ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. All ABC Kid Genius materials contained within and generated by the ABC Kid Genius software, including images, illustrations, designs, icons, photographs, video clips, animations, animated characters and written and other materials that are part of the ABC Kid Genius software (collectively, the "Contents") are copyrights, trademarks and/or other intellectual properties owned, controlled or licensed by Phase II Pty. Ltd. 7. THIS SOFTWARE IS DISTRIBUTED "\AS IS.\" AND ALL FAULTS AND THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO SATISFACTORY, QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, ACCURACY AND EFFORTS IS WITH YOU. ABC Kid Genius AND THE DEVELOPER'S LIMITATION OF REMEDIES ARE NOT CUMULATIVE. SUCH DEVELOPER IS AN INTENDED BENEFICIARY OF THIS SECTION. 8. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT, AND UNDERSTAND THAT BY CONTINUING THE INSTALLATION OF THE SOFTWARE, BY LOADING OR RUNNING THE SOFTWARE, OR BY PLACING OR COPYING THE SOFTWARE ONTO YOUR COMPUTER HARD DRIVE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT'S TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
